The Myanmar Armed Forces, or Tatmadaw, has officially discharged 24 children in Yangon in line with the government’s commitment to end the recruitment and use of children under the age of 18 years in the armed forces.

The gunmen came for Syrian Islamist rebel commander Thaer al-Waqqas riding in a battered white car.
