93,000 Households from Pastoralists Counties in Kenya to Benefit from a US$77 World Bank Financing

The Government of Kenya on July 30 launched Kenya’s component of the US$197m Regional Pastoral Livelihoods Resilience Project (RPLRP). Over 93,000 households whose livelihoods rely mainly on pastoral activities in the 14 participating counties are expected to benefit directly from the project.

UNHCR appeals for additional $115 million for voluntary return, reintegration of Somali refugees from Dadaab camp

Plan also includes the relocation of 31,000 refugees to Kakuma and verification of camp population

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency on 26 July appealed to donors for an additional $115.4 million to fund the voluntary return and reintegration of Somali refugees from Dadaab refugee camp, Kenya. Funding is also required for relocation of refugees from Dadaab to Kakuma refugee camp, as well as related projects and infrastructure in Kenya and Somalia. UNHCR had previously appealed for $369.4 million for the ‘Somalia situation’.
