Refugee resettlement - Civil Liberties MEPs in Lebanon
A 7-strong delegation of Civil Liberties Committee MEPs will be in Lebanon this week to look into the situation of refugees and resettlement. MEPs will visit refugee camps and meet UNHCR, UNICEF, UNRWA, international NGOs and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) staff working with the refugees. They will also meet representatives of the Lebanese Parliament and Minister for Social Affairs Mr Rashed Derbas (tbc).

9.8 Million American adults had serious thoughts of suicide in 2015
A new report by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reveals that in 2015, four percent of American adults aged 18 and older thought seriously about killing themselves during the past 12 months from when they were surveyed. During this same period, 1.1 percent of adults made suicide plans, and 0.6 percent of adults made non-fatal attempts at suicide.

European Commission announces up to €108 million in emergency funding to Bulgaria to improve border and migration management
Following the announcement made by President Juncker at the press conference after the Informal Meeting of the 27 Heads of State or Government in Bratislava and on-going contacts with the Bulgarian authorities over the past months, the European Commission has decided to respond to requests for emergency funding received last night from the Bulgarian authorities and make available up to €108 million in emergency funding to support border and migration management.

Singapore Tops List of ASEAN Countries on 2016 Logistics Performance Index, Ranked 5th Globally
Progress in logistics performance has slowed for the first time since 2007 for least developed countries, while ASEAN economies displayed a mixed trend, with some countries backsliding in their overall logistics performance and others performing above the regional average, according to the latest edition of the Logistics Performance Index, part of the bi-annual report published by the World Bank Group, “Connecting to Compete 2016: Trade Logistics in the Global Economy.”
