J.H. Baxter & Company has agreed take corrective action at their Eugene, Oregon wood treatment facility for mishandling and improper storage of hazardous waste. They will also pay a $64,000 penalty as part of the agreement.

Marine life flies outside UN as world meets to discuss global ocean treaty
Greenpeace activists flew a giant turtle outside the United Nations HQ in New York, on September 4, as countries gathered to begin negotiations, for the first time in history, towards a treaty covering all oceans outside of national borders. A large and colorful kite, representing iconic marine life, was flown from boats on the East River, alongside an aerial banner reading “Global Ocean – Global Treaty!”

Judge Grants Temporary Restraining Order Halting Grizzly Hunt

Budget MEPs approve €34m in EU aid to Greece, Poland, Lithuania and Bulgaria
The aid, which still needs to be confirmed by plenary and Council, includes €16,918,941 for reconstruction in Lithuania, following continuous rainfall and floods which damaged drainage systems, dams and roads as well as agricultural lands throughout the summer and autumn of 2017. The money can be used to help cover the costs of restoring the network and water management infrastructure.
