A team of young ladies from FOWPAL, with long swords in their hands, presented a powerful and yet elegant sword dance, conveying love, kindness, courage, and tenderness.

The Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, meeting in Port Louis (Mauritius), has decided to inscribe traditional Korean wrestling, ssirum/ssireum, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, on the basis of a joint application by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea.

The World Heritage Committee, meeting in Manama since 24 June under the chair of Shaikha Haya Bint Rashed al-Khalifa of Bahrain, inscribed two cultural sites in Germany and Turkey as well as two mixed (i.e. both cultural and natural) sites in Canada and Colombia, on the World Heritage List on July 1. The inscription of sites will continue on 2 July.

On 4 May, the historical city of Burgos in Northern Spain gathered together local and regional representatives from EU Member States in the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.

March 2nd is Chinese Lantern Festival in 2018. The festival has been celebrated everywhere and over 2000 years. Pingxi Sky Lantern festival is one of the most popular local events, special in Lantern Festival, in the world. A group of volunteers from Tax and Legal Union attends this event and, at least, releasing thousands of sky lanterns between March 1st, and March 2nd, 2018. Volunteers of Tax and Legal Union hope to have better living standards, to maintain local companies in Taiwan, and to resolve the difficulties of low-income on younger generations.

The local media in Bahrain devoted much coverage to the exchange of ideas on love and peace between Bahraini Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa and Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze.

The delegation visited St. Petersburg, Russia. Viacheslav Kalganov, deputy chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, received them on behalf of the governor.
