The European Space Agency (ESA) launched its Vega rocket from the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana on the evening of the 4th local time, marking the final mission for the Vega rocket.

According to foreign media reports, the launch of the Vega rocket, operated by the French company Arianespace, was delayed by one day due to a last-minute issue. It finally lifted off at 10:50 PM local time on the 4th. The final mission of the Vega rocket was to deliver the Sentinel-2C satellite into orbit, which has successfully reached its designated orbit.

The report also noted that the Sentinel-2C satellite will provide valuable information for managing agricultural and forestry activities, as well as food security. Additionally, it will participate in monitoring water quality, methane emissions, and contribute to environmental protection and disaster relief efforts. This satellite is part of the European Union’s (EU) Copernicus program.

It is reported that since Vega's service began on February 13, 2012, this mission marks its final flight. The rocket will be replaced by the Vega-C rocket, which stands 34.8 meters tall and is a four-stage rocket. The first three stages use solid fuel, while the fourth stage uses liquid fuel. The Vega-C rocket successfully launched for the first time in July 2022.
